The Women Poets’ Network
Proudly supporting the professional and holistic development of our members.
The Women Poets' Network (WPN) is a community that advocates for women poets' unique needs and runs events, workshops and in person interventions to help them thrive, build lasting relationships with each other, and with organisations, producers and commissioners to bring their work into the world.
We welcome all UK-based women poets aged 18+.
Membership starts from just £25 per year and gives you access to our online events and a listing in our online directory, connecting women poets across the UK.
This WPN is an evolving project, intended to respond to women poets’ need for a non-competitive, peer-to-peer space.
The WPN was created in 2022, with support from an Arts Council England (ACE) grant.

COMMUNITY
The main benefit of joining the WPN is becoming a member of an ever-growing network of women poets across the UK. From poets just starting to send their poems out into the world, to award-winning poets who have published or performed their work nationally and internationally.
WPN members also receive an exclusive newsletter where we share events and opportunities that we think will be of interest to you.
EVENTS
WPN Members get free entry to all our online events, including our brilliant Open Mic & Practical Chats. Regular events include:
- Inspirational webinars focused on how to thrive as a woman poet. Each webinar features a panel of industry speakers, a Q&A, and a short, practical workshop session.
- Creative workshops that explore ways to nourish your writing. Workshop leaders are commissioned from within the WPN membership.
- Regular online open mics for WPN members and other women poets to share their work in a relaxed and friendly environment. Each open mic includes a practical chat where we share knowledge on all aspects of creative and professional practice.
MEMBERS DIRECTORY
WPN members get their own personal listing in the Women Poets’ Network Directory, where they can connect with other members. Use the search feature to connect with poets in your region or poets with similar interests.
WOMEN POETS’ LIBRARY
The Women Poets’ Library is a collection of digital resources created by leading women poets. You’ll find articles under the headings of ‘Craft’, ‘Graft’, ‘The Knowledge’ and ‘Sustain’. Each focuses on a different aspect of life as a woman poet.
EXCLUSIVE FACEBOOK GROUP
Our private Facebook Group is where you’ll find a lively community of 1100+ women poets supporting and celebrating each other. It’s a great place for sharing opportunities and resources, as well as engaging in conversations about poetry.
Our brilliant WPN members support other women poets by helping us to keep our Women Poets’ Library and WPN Facebook group free to those who are unable to pay for membership.
